Program Description:

Chamberlain School’s philosophy is based upon the belief that al children are capable of achieving success in vital areas of their lives no matter how adverse their lives may have been thus far. A strong principle is to engage and teach children and their families to develop the skills and confidence to manage their own lives to their highest potential. The therapeutic treatment goal is to heal, contain, and modify maladaptive behavior, promote development of greater competence and build a stronger and more valued sense of self for educationally challenged and emotionally challenged students.



Education at F L Chamberlain School
Academics a Chamberlain are designed to challenge students to discover and meet their full educational potential in a supportive creative, progressive manner. Your student's educational success is our focus. High quality education and specialized academic programming is tailored to the specific needs of each student.

Small classes - With a teacher to student ratio of 1:4, students benefit from Chamberlain's small classes with individualized attention from devoted teachers and comprehensive curriculum to build classroom skills and foster social growth.

Structured environment - the curriculum is presented in a structured and supportive environment to meet the goals of each student's Individual Education Plan.

Academic curriculum is designed to meet Massachusetts criteria for graduation while allowing students to make up for lost ground and address areas of deficiency. Peer tutoring and supervised home work time help students succeed academically.

Application of the lessons learned at Chamberlain both in and out of the classroom brings rewards that will be reaped for years to come.

Aviation Program

Chamberlain offer students the opportunity to learn how to fly through its aviation program. Student participate in on the ground flight school and in the air instruction.

Student Life
Live and learn in a structured and supportive environment where you are able to improve your emotional, physical and educational well being.
Home-like residences - You'll reside in one of our nine home-like settings and participate in all aspects of the daily routine of chores and mealtime activities.

Individualized instruction - Benefit from individualized instruction and a 4 to 1 student teacher ratio. Classed are scheduled from 8AM-3PM Monday through Friday.

Participate in student activities that augment our comprehensive and exciting curriculum including extensive and varied electives.

Work study students complete daily academics and then are transported to jobs in the community. You job is selected according to your interests.

Student Therapy - Chamberlain provides weekly individual and group therapy sessions for each student, as well as crisis intervention as necessary. Each student is also seen monthly by one of the psychiatrists on staff.

With therapists assigned to Residences at Chamberlain, they are able to work closely with the residential team as well as teachers for ongoing and effective treatment planning.

Admissions to F L Chamberlain School
We accept referrals for students with various special needs, learning disorders, and/or specific diagnoses. Admissions is based upon referral packet information, which includes academic and psychological assessments, and previous school history.

Rolling admissions - an application may be made at any time during the year. Students may enter the program at various times throughout the year. Decision for placement is finalized after completion of an interview and review of admission materials. An on-site pre-placement interview provides a good opportunity for you to tour the campus and for all parties to assess the appropriateness of placement at Chamberlain.
