Program Description:
Gatehouse Academy is an extended care treatment center for young men and women in need of long term drug rehab or alcohol rehab. We offer the opportunity for young adults from the ages of 17-25 to learn life skills, continue formalized education, enhance physical well-being, and recover from the detrimental effects of chemical dependency. Our initial three month "intensive ranch" program sets the foundation for young adults to begin their recovery.
Gatehouse Academy is sought out by young adults who seek long term drug rehab, alcohol rehab, sober living or halfway house, extended care, coming out of wilderness programs, primary drug treatment programs or who have made poor choices due to involvement with drugs and alcohol. In some other cases the young adults are dually diagnosed or have been involved with the legal system and need a long-term program. Generally speaking, alcohol rehab and drug rehab take considerable time and it requires diligence to achieve and sustain recovery. Extended care makes this possible by stressing what young adults can accomplish, not how long it will take.
Alcohol Addiction Treatment and Recovery
It seems almost silly, but there are a startling number of one month-long drug/alcohol addiction recovery programs that don't take rehabilitation seriously enough. While these programs stress the right areas, they simply don't offer the kind of all-encompassing chemical dependency treatment that is required for full recovery. One month is simply not long enough for many people who struggle with addictions.
Whether it is alcohol, cocaine, marijuana or heroin, drug addiction places a stranglehold on a young person (and his or her family). Concentrating alcohol addiction treatment on helping young adults, age 17 to 25, is one of the most effective ways of combating the disease, because that is the time frame in which addictions seem to have the most impact on a person's path in life. Rehabilitation should encompass recovery, education, therapy, motivation, and discipline. Additionally, offering a Life Skills curriculum teaches participants the exact skills they will require in order to lead happy, drug-free lives.
During their stay at Gatehouse Academy, our students learn to lean on one another for emotional support, because in a matter of speaking, they're all in the same boat. Overcoming addiction is an equally difficult and rewarding experience, and so friendships that form here tend to be unbreakable. Gatehouse Academy is not only a facility for overcoming drug abuse, but also a place where young people rediscover the joys of being themselves. To get help for someone needing drug abuse rehab contact us as soon as possible.
