- Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders
The behaviors the children may be exhibiting when they are admitted include:
- having made a serious suicide attempt or are considered to be actively suicidal
- having been or may be harmful to others
- demonstrating aggressiveness in school, home, or community
- having run away from home
- demonstrating sexual, fire setting, or other dangerous behaviors
- showing psychotic or organic symptoms
- having mild substance abuse with needs far exceeding a family’s resources
Care is provided in the least restrictive residential setting both in our secure facility and in the homes of highly trained therapeutic families in the Pendleton area.
Children are provided individual, small group, equine, art, recreational, and occupational therapies.
Pendleton Academies serves the unique academic, physical, social and emotional needs of students who are in a special and critical period of their lives. The school staff, as part of the treatment team, is committed to creating and maintaining a trusting, caring, and supportive environment that promotes academic excellence, encourages social development, fosters emotional well-being, and instills a passion for life-long learning. Each child’s individually tailored education program combines fun with grade- and achievement-level appropriate academic work, credit recovery, opportunities for social growth, and life skills development activities.
