Program Description:

Through compassion, self-discovery, structure and guidance Turnabout/Stillwater Academy helps families learn to help themselves. The program’s mission is to guide students and their families to the true principles of happiness. Turnabout/Stillwater Academy provides the support and structure needed for students and families to turn from a destructive path to a path of healing and life-long health.

Turnabout helps teens learn to take responsibility for their choices and develop a positive self concept, enabling them to learn to hope, dream, and work toward a happy, meaningful, and successful life.

Critical components of our program include individual attention, structure, therapy, education, fun recreational activities, strengthening family relationships, & aftercare.

We serve teens ages 12 to 17 who are struggling with defiance, failure in school, depression, PTSD, self-mutilation, substance abuse, adoption issues, learning disabilities (ADD/ADHD), or any of the other issues listed in our student profile.

Stillwater Academy combines the structure of our therapeutic program with specialized help, and individual attention. This combination has helped students achieve a 1.5 grade point increase in their cumulative GPA on average during their stay at Turnabout.

Stillwater Academy, Turnabout's private school, really gives students a chance to get back on track, raise their grades, and rediscover the joy of learning.

Education Tailored to Your Teen's Needs

We don't let any students fall through the cracks. Class sizes are very small so that each student can learn on his or her own level and speed. This individual attention has proved especially helpful for students struggling with learning disorders.

Turnabout staff closely monitors each student's academic progress and provides more help where necessary. Parents are able to follow their student’s progress weekly through online updates.

3 objectives of Stillwater Academy:
-Help each student meet the requirements of high school graduation
-Instill within each student a love of learning and a positive attitude towards education
-Prepare and encourage each student to go on to higher education

The success our students experience in school is more than an academic benefit; it helps teens rebuild self-esteem, rekindle hope for a brighter future, and further their therapeutic growth.
