Program Description:
The children we serve have experienced trauma that interferes with their ability to bond with others and to develop trusting, meaningful relationships. Our program helps children and families uncover the disruptions in the bonding relationship between child and parent. The child is then taught to understand inappropriate behaviors resulting from this disruption and master new ones.
Woodland Spring Lodge offers a cottage living environment based on trust. One-on-one interactions between child and staff provide the child with the experiences that lead to the development of positive and meaningful relationships.
Woodland Spring Lodge serves 12 boys and 12 girls in two cottages on a 40-acre setting. Our warm, friendly living environment enables staff to provide the personal attention, care and individual treatment each child needs.
All children receive an in-depth evaluation involving the child and family members. Our comprehensive team of cottage staff, therapists, teachers, psychiatric and nursing staff creates a treatment plan that matches each child's needs. Each treatment plan is comprised of individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, psychiatric services, academics and outdoor education activities created for that child.
Family involvement is an important component of the treatment plan and includes family therapy, follow-up visitations, progress reviews and recommendations for after treatment care.
