Program Description:

Our Mission
To help youth through our ranch work, horse therapy, and special needs resources, to learn how to be responsible, achieve goals, and live correctly in order to succeed in today's world.

With the guidance of our full time therapist, Flying 7 will develop a plan after the youth is admitted to assess the child's immediate and specific needs, and identify the direction and goals needed for positive change. Then Flying 7 will initiate the specific services and other resources to meet those needs. We are a small group which assures individual attention.

Schooling needs will be met at the Flying 7 Ranch. We have a certified teacher on staff who assures one-on-one tutoring. We are accredited with the department of education. Most students get caught up to (or become ahead of) their grade level because of our unique schooling program.
Goals: The boys will set goals for responsibility accomplishment etc, which is already there

Journals: A journal will be kept to track their progress and experiences.

Activity: Activities will consist of normal ranch work including calving, foaling, branding, round-ups, and cattle drives
Horse Therapy: Each student will have his own assigned horse that he will learn to care for and help train.

Individual and Family Therapy: According to the guardian's request or needs of the youth each child will be doing individual and family counseling with our full-time clinician.

The schedule will be flexible to allow time for the needs of the boys. Such as therapy, etc. Sometimes the ranch work itself will necessitate flexibility in scheduling, for example, during calving and foaling times, we may have to be with an animal during unscheduled times.

The boys will set goals for responsibility, accomplishment, and good behavior. When goals are reached, there will be rewards, such as being assigned their own horse for a project, horse back rides, participation in round-ups, etc. A journal will be kept to tract their progress and experiences.

The ranch is located outside of Idaho Falls, Idaho in the great Snake River Valley. Wildlife and great scenery abound. We are very close to Yellowstone Park and Jackson Hole. The staff at Flying 7 Ranch has over 30 years experience in coaching at the high school level and over 35 years experience working with youth, including other youth ranches and wilderness programs.
